Start your 30-day trial
Open Accuvanta from the desktop. On the sign-in screen, click Try Accuvanta (“Start a 30-day trial”) and fill in:
- Your company name, and when your financial year starts (March is the SARS default)
- How often you file VAT (monthly or bi-monthly)
- Your name, a username and password, and an email address for account recovery
Choose the default chart of accounts to start quickly, or an empty chart if you're moving from another system.
Keep your username and password somewhere safe. From now on you sign in with company + username + password. -
Set up the basics
Open Settings (the gear icon at the bottom left) and work through:
- Company: company details and VAT number for your documents

Good to know
What happens after 30 days?
You get a reminder in the last 7 days. If you haven't bought a licence by day 30, Accuvanta becomes read-only: you can still sign in, view everything, run reports, export and make backups, but not post new transactions. Enter your licence code (reminder banner → Enter licence code, or Settings → System and licence → Activate Licence Code) and carry on with the same data.
How do I install an update?
Download the newer installer and run it the same way. It installs over the old version and keeps all your data. Close Accuvanta first.
Where is my data?
On this computer, in Accuvanta's own database, not in someone else's cloud. That's why backups matter: keep regular copies on a USB drive or another computer.
How do I check the download?
We publish a SHA256 checksum with every version. In Windows, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run Get-FileHash .\Accuvanta-Setup-<version>.exe. The long code it shows must match the one we sent you exactly.
Can other PCs in the office use it?
Yes. Accuvanta runs on one main computer and your team connects to it over the office network, each with their own login. We'll help you set this up.
